Additionally, the team handles a wide range of engineering activities including direct 'hands on' support of therefurbishment and test areas, and as such requires an engineer with a broad base of practical experience ideally withinthe rotating equipment environment.Responsibilities. Selecting and providing performance data forspecific applications Use of proprietary FEA software to optimiseand validate seal performance Define and communicate custom designrequirements to the seal designer Validate and approve customer specific sealdesigns Define and specify in house testingrequirements against customer specifications Review and validate refurbished productsagainst improved designs Support and guide test stand and operationspersonnel.The Selection CriteriaThe successful candidate should have an HNC/D or equivalent as a minimum, whilst a degree in mechanical engineering isdesirable. A minimum of 2 years experience in a related environment would be preferred, although consideration would begiven to a new graduate also. Ideally the candidate should also possess a working knowledge of rotating equipment.Experience with CAD and FEA packages would also be an advantage.Contributory pensionProbation 6 months25 days holiday plus 6 Bank HolidaysStandard hours:08.30 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday08.30 am to 4.30 pm Friday
