Description:

Our client a financial software house based in Bristol are looking for an Experienced Application Support analyst toprovide first and second level support to our rapidly growing International Banking/Asset Management customer base, fromour Bristol Head Office. Working in a team, the Analyst will provide support on very successful Banking Reconciliation &Investigation Back Office client-server and web applications in use worldwide. Needs to have a can do attitude toproblem management through to timely resolution.Needs to demonstrate the ability to learn the application functionalityquickly, and provide input into the overall support process and procedure, as demands upon it change and evolve. Positionreports to Global Support Manager.SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Proven customer support experience, and good telephone manner.Proven analytic problem solving and IT background.Must demonstrate the ability to learn new applications quickly and to the detail required.Good knowledge of Unix. eg:- directory navigation, vi editor, use of cron etc.Good knowledge of Windows client and server.Good knowledge of Web application servers, with experience in at least one of Websphere, Weblogic or similar.Good knowledge of SQL eg:- able to form complex database queries in order to progress support call investigationsGood knowledge of RDBMS, with experience in at least one of Oracle, Sybase, or SQLServer. - eg:- understands indexing,standard database optimisation requirements, backup and recovery etc.Good general ability to read application code (C, Visual Basic, Java) a strong advantage Work well in a team environment, and take full ownership of application support calls assignedAny European language skills an advantage.HEAT administration skills also of interest.The role will entail working shifts between 7am and 7pm.
