If youve ever been into one of our stores, youll know how much fun there is to be had. Bright, colourful and alive withthe chirping of birds, squeaking of small animals and splashing of fish, our stores are full of theatre.As Assistant Manager you will be the third tier of management in the store supporting the Deputy Manager and Reportinginto the Store Manager. You will be a key holder and often take on Duty Manager Responsibilities. This is an ideal firststep into management.We are somewhat different to other retailers because we sell live stock but the general experience you have gained inother quality retailers will still apply and help you make a smooth transition. As an Assistant Manager your aim will besupport the Store Manager in ensuring your store achieves our 5 key objectives: * Maximise Sales * Provide excellent Customer Service * Achieve excellent presentation standards * Be the leading Pet Care Authority * Live the Company Values Youll be responsible for ensuring the store exceeds its sales targets and overseeing matters of security and cash and banking so that we can protect the profits. Youll already know about customer service but you will be expected to make sure thats the first thing on your teams mind. Of course the care of pets is what we are all about and the fish, birds and small animals need as much care and attention as our customers and staff! They say never work with children or animals but we believe that is why we have so much fun. These positions are an excellent route into an exciting company and the perfect platform to build a retail career.
