An international multi-disciplinary consultancy to the built, natural, social and economic environment is seeking anassitant trackbed/civil engineer to work in its Northern office. The organisation provides a range of high qualityengineering, environmental, planning and management services to a diverse range of clients in the public and privatesectors and to social and economic regeneration projects worldwide.The role will be 80% office-based and 20% site-based and the ideal candidate will have formal training in civilengineering or related subject with 2 years minimum practical experience in a railway environment. A Driving licence andPTS/IWA are essential and weekend and night working is required, and will be paid at the appropriate overtime rate.The applicant will be able to undertake, at a good level, the following tasks:Desk study; Design of trackbedinvestigation; Supervision of site work; Factual reporting and a sound understanding of the following must bedemonstrated: Trackbed construction; Methods of track maintenance and renewal; Trackbed deterioration mechanisms; Geologyand hydrogeology; Drainage of trackbed and earthworks. |
