THE COMPANYThe Company designs, manufactures and markets electro-mechanical based equipment to oilfield service companies, who runoperations at the well-site on behalf of the oil or gas company.The equipment is used by all the leading operators and service companies in the world, and has established an excellentreputation for quality and reliability.Main product lines are instruments which gather data from production wells, assisting in more efficient oil and gasproduction, cost-effective reservoir management and maintenance of well integrity.There has been consistent growth in the company's revenues and operating profits. Operating profits in the year endedFebruary 2004 were GBP 5.3 million.Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this is a technical but hands on role where the main scope is to support amanufacturing operation comprised essentially of assembly and testing, where components are outsourced using a network ofvendors.Key duties include preparing and administering invitations to tender, preparing and leading in the negotiation ofcontractual agreements in accordance with the departmental policies and procedures, evaluating quotations and pricingstructures, order placement and developing supplier performance analysis and review.You will have 3 - 5 years experience in a purchasing role, ideally in a manufacturing environment and be able todemonstrate a broad knowledge of machining processes together with experience of successfully working with subcontractsuppliers. In addition you will be a strong negotiator, with sound analytical skills and experience in data correlation.A minimum of 5 GCSEs at A - C is required, but a formal qualification in Business Studies, Procurement or Purchasingwould be advantageous. |
