: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced buyer in Health and Beauty products to join one of the UKs leading retailers. You will category manage the non food and health and beauty category to meet the companys financial and marketing strategies. You will source branded and own label products at the lowest price possible and ensure all ranged stock is available through our clients distribution network. Your main responsibilities will include: Source and develop innovative product ranges in line with company policy, budgets, quality, ethical and retail pricing / profit requirements Negotiate supplier terms including cost prices, payment, volume rebates and other support. Source suitable products for inclusion in promotional plan, negotiating special terms where applicable Continually monitor competitor activity, conduct benchmarking and review competitor ranges to ensure retail prices are set to maximise sales and profit Be aware of the market and the ability to recommend opportunities that will positively contribute to objectives for growth and profit To be successful you will have a minimum of three years experience in category management preferably within a retail environment. You must also have an excellent understanding of supply chain and distribution issues and familiarity with merchandising and planograms. You will also be an excellent communicator with the ability to negotiate with suppliers and lead and motivate a team.
