Description:

A hands-on development role, working in the team involved in the design and development of a 3G /2.5G /2G handset.The role is focused on the 3GPP WCMDA air-interface and signalling protocols. As a member of the team, you will beexpected to help to ensure the successful resolution of technical issues, from analysis through to implementation andcustomer delivery.Key Responsibilities:Design and development of non-embedded software in C/C++ Analysis of 3GPP UTRAN and GERAN specifications Development ofsoftware implementing UTRAN/GERAN L1/L2/L3 signalling protocols Development of enabling applications such as videostreaming Assisting with technical contributions to the pre-sales process Assisting with 2nd-line technical supportSkills Required:Essential:- 3 years commercial full-lifecycle software development experience- 3 years experience of programming in C/C++- Proven track record of expertise in large, complex real-time/near real-time software systems- Pro-active problem solver- Able to work to tight timescales, resolving conflicting priorities and requirements- Effective communication and team-working skillsHighly Desirable:- Expertise in 3GPP lower-layer signalling protocols, e.g. RRC, RLC/MAC for 3G (UTRAN) or GSM/EDGE- Development of software for implementing layers 1 to 3 of the OSI communication modelOther Information: May include some overseas travelCall James for more infolocation: South East, Fleet, Hampshire, UKsalary: 30K to 50K
