RoleThe person appointed to this post will be a chartered member of the Landscape Institute and will be responsible to theLandscape Director of the company. The range of duties will include:1.0 GENERAL LANDSCAPE SECTION DUTIES:Management of project budgets, including the verification of work in progress figures, the preparation of monthly feeforecasts and fee accounts.Assisting the Landscape Director with general administration duties including participation in the programming of thesections workload.Marketing the consultancy services of the practice.Preparation of fee project bids.Filing of project correspondence and drawings and maintaining an up-to-date register of drawings.Assisting with archiving of dead jobs.Ensuring the sections Quality Assurance procedures are maintained and that all tasks are compliant with said.IT system management.Assisting with maintaining an up-to-date landscape product and technical library.If necessary:printing, binding reports, photocopyingdelivery and collection of information including photographsphotograph mounting and splicing.Assisting other members of the Landscape section as and when required.Participation in tea and coffee making rota.2.0 LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL DUTIES:Preparation of sketch schemes.Preparation of planning application drawings and documentation for submission to local authority.Development of schemes and preparation of working drawing packages for tender purposes, including specification andschedules/bills of quantities.Preparation of tender reports.Attending and taking an active role in design team meetings during the development of a scheme, and the preparation ofnotes of meeting if required.All necessary liaising and corresponding with clients, consultants, Local Authority, contractors and other involved witha project.Attending site progress meetings for projects in construction and carrying out contract administration duties includingissuing instructions and preparation of interim and final accounts.Undertaking landscape appraisals for general assessment purposes and for environmental statements including thepreparation of all text and drawings.The preparation and project management of environmental statements, landscape reports and other documents.Attendance at public consultation meetings including the preparation of exhibition material.Preparation of evidence for written representations and public inquiriesThe appointment and management of sub-consultants, e.g. ecological, archaeological, agricultural etc.Arranging and chairing meetings.3.0 GENERAL ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THE POST:The ability to work effectively (with little or no supervision) on ones own.The ability to programme work and work on numerous projects at the same time.The ability to relate well to other staff, other professionals and clients.o have a commercial awareness but to maintain a professional outlook.To have good written and drawing communication skills.To be hard working to meet demands deadlines, often at short notice and to be flexible in working beyond standard officehours.The ability to use a computer for word processing (Microsoft word) and CAD (Autocad )The ability to drive a car and to have a full, driving licence.
