: They are now looking for a Chief Power Engineer to work within the Electrical Plant Group of Protection & Electrical Branch, Engineering Division based in Gloucestershire. They are looking to strengthen its technical expertise in electrical power generation and distribution in order to support the Companys nuclear fleet. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support on electrical power systems and equipment primarily from the main generators out to the grid connections. You will need experience in the design, manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of utility scale electrical power generation equipment and systems. This should include electrical generators, excitation and AVRs, MV and HV switchgears and cabling. Experience should also include HV switchyard equipment design and operation, and transmission system technical interface management. You will also possess an awareness and understanding of safe work systems, and have worked previously in a strong operational safety focused culture. Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, you should be a chartered engineer with comprehensive relevant plant experience, of which 5 years should have been at senior level. You will also have solid technical competence and a proven track record in the field. |
