An excellent opportunity has arisen with a leading Blue-Chip insurance company based in Manchester. My client is lookingfor a highly commercial, ambitious and self-motivated candidate with a mathematical background and numerate degree. Youwill be a member of the Management Accounts team and report in to the Senior Commercial Analyst. You will provideanalytical assistance to the retail Network and the Specialist Unit Teams. Your key accountabilities will be; thecompletion of period end reports, ensuring accurate accruals are made, reviewing and monitoring costs, investigating andexplaining reasons for variance, preparing rolling forecasts, setting quarterly targets for various Business Units,analysing and preparing reports and KPIs for Senior Management and key business areas, and ad hoc reports/analysis asrequired by the Senior Commercial Analyst. The successful candidate will have a numerate degree and have strong GSCE andA levels, with at least a B in GSCE Maths. You will also be an expert in manipulating and analysing large volumes of datausing a multi-dimensional data mining OLAP tools eg, TM1. You must have a high level of expertise in Microsoft Excel andAccess and be able to write clear, concise and persuasive plans and reports. Strong organisational and project managementskills with the ability to put in place an effective system for the collation, manipulation and analysis of data areessential. You must also be a strong communicator and be influential, persuasive and resilient with the ability to driveanalysis and projects forward, whilst retaining a business and commercial perspective.
