Description:

Commercial Project Manager:The Engineering Team have adopted an Agile approach to product development which has led to an increase in throughputwithin the Engineering department. In order to maintain this level of effectiveness there is a need to recruit aCommercial Project Manager, reporting directly to the Programme Manager.Job purpose:This new role is for a Commercial Project Manager with responsibility for product developments in terms of time, cost andquality, from concept through to a first customer sale. This includes both standard products and those for specialapplications / individual customers. The role requires experience of managing technology and sub-contract designagreements with external customers and suppliers.Principal accountabilities: Produce and present realistic project proposals to determine whether a product development program is viable for thecompany. Ensure project costs and time scales are commercially viable and controlled, to ensure that a development program isdelivered on time and within budget. Commence and progress tasks in line with project requirements and team capabilities. Review product design during project to ensure that it continues to meet the market brief, technical specification,design standard and unit cost. Co-ordinate and liase regularly with other departments throughout the span of the project to achieve project deadlines. Direct and monitor the work of sub-contractors and outside resources used in the design process so that their workmeets the company requirements.Skills, knowledge and aptitude: Degree or equivalent education in Engineering discipline. A further management qualification would be an advantage. Creative and cost conscious approach to problem solving Project Management experience 3 years minimum.. Experience in the metrology/measurement/precision engineering field (or similar). Commercial and contract management experience
