The PositionA high calibre Compliance Engineer is required to assist with the compliance assessment of sites influenced by SEAR.Candidates should possess a natural attention to detail whilst maintaining a flexible approach with respect to theirduties.DutiesReporting to the Compliance Manager (DSEAR), the Compliance Engineer will have responsibility for implementing thecompanies services to add value to customers. Strategies for compliance with DSEAR. These will include, but not belimited to the following:- identify needs and provide advice to clients as appropriate- specify the requirements and estimate costs for implementation plans- assess hazardous areas against published standards and regulations- specify and conduct risk assessments in accordance with the relevant standards- conduct on-site assessments at the clients. premises. This will involve travel in the UK and may involve some foreigntravel- prepare reports, drawings and advisory documents- ensure that project work is conducted within budget and timescale and in accordance with procedures- work effectively as part of a small team of both other employees and subcontractors- monitor effectiveness of all processes and work with peers to modify procedures and implement change to improveefficiency and accuracy of work.- as required, represent the company on relevant technical committees.In addition to the above duties, the successful candidate may be required to perform other duties assigned by theCompliance Manager (DSEAR) from time to time.Qualification/Skills and ExperienceSuitable candidates will have:- a qualification in either electrical or chemical engineering and- at least 5 years. experience in either relevant industrial or manufacturing environments- an understanding of the application of DSEAR to industrial and commercial premises- an understanding of interpreting engineering drawings, plot/site layout plans and piping and instrument diagramsCandidates will also be expected to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the practical application of:- Management of safety of installations in potentially flammable atmospheres- Hazardous area classification to IEC60079-10, IP Code Part 15 2nd edition, and IGE/SR/25, across a number ofmanufacturing sectors.- Hazardous area classification of dust environments- Legislation, including CAD, EPS and DSEAR- Electricity at Work Regulations and Management of Health and Safety Regulations- Design of installations in hazardous areas, possibly in petrochemical/manufacturing industry environments.- Installation, operation and maintenance of systems in hazardous areas.Knowledge of requirements for certification of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres would bean advantage.Candidates will also have good communication and interpersonal skills and basic computer literacy of MS Office etcAmes 2696 Location Chester Salary Negotiable |
