General Management Tasks Brief your team every fortnight on business & departmental developments Keep General Manager informed of significant site delays Notify the Management Team of potential payment delays at the weekly management meeting Provide site fix experience for staff from other departments if requested Assist the Technical Department when requested to provide the odd measurement whilst on-site Meet with the General Manager weekly to discuss capacity and agree the use/cost of subcontractors Other duties as requiredSafety For all projects, assess site conditions (at least 48 hours) before fixing teams arrive to ensure safety is ensured andwork can start effectively Recruit, induct and train new staff as requiredQuality & Staff Development Lead handover meetings with the relevant draughtsman prior to starting on site Assess the suitability of fixings specified for the job and resolve issues with the relevant draughtsman Get job sign off where possible and progressively hand over larger jobs to the client Lead and develop Leaders Fixers & Contracts Supervisors to ensure:o Site safety is maintainedo Job progress is monitoredo Staff whereabouts are monitoredo The quality of fixing work is checkedo Materials are controlled on siteo Problems are solved quicklyCost Organise necessary subcontract labour in advance to ensure costs are controlled Work with Technical Manager to ensure jobs are invoiced weekly & interims can be raised by 23rd month Ensure day work charges are raised where necessary Ensure the time taken on installing extras is recorded for invoicing by the Technical Department Deal with expenses weeklyDelivery Attend daily production planning meetings whenever possible Attend daily snagging meetings whenever possible Discuss and plan on-site dates with production Notify the Material Controller of snagging requirements as appropriate Notify Material Control of extras needed Discuss programme progress with the client (approx 3 weeks before expected on site) and keep production informed ofdelays Once contact has been made with the customer, keep them informed of progress as necessary Plan fixing teams to ensure promised dates are achieved and subcontract costs are minimised Manage company vehicles (liaising with the Production & Technical Managers as necessary)Key Skills: Ability to prioritise personal time Ability to plan labour & subcontract labour effectively Ability to delegate & develop Contracts Supervisors an Fixers Acting on agreed actions Communicating with your team and the customer Driving performance improvement Working as part of the management team Problem solving & problem prevention
