Costing TechnicianMain Purpose of the job:To generate & audit/verify product costings for commercial and operational purposes and work with internal teams, asrequired to ensure that costs are always best for business.Main Responsibilities/Outputs of Job (at least 5):Generate requested product costings via Excel.Create costing markers using Gerber technology.Keep up to date with any duty / manufacturing location differentials.Keep up to date with factory methods & machinery.Working with internal teams, ensure that all costing requirements are managed accurately and to time.Audit & advise on returned FOB costings at the request of the Product Margin Engineer/Commercial Account ManagerWork closely with manufacturers to ensure efficient known working methods are used to ensure competitive pricingSupport the Sales Directors on specific cost/garment engineering projects as requiredEthical ResponsibilityPeople ManagementComply with Company Health and Safety standards.Ensure that the Companys approach to diversity and non-discriminatory people management practices are upheld at alltime.Be a good team member.ContactsThe post holder will be required to build and maintain good working relationships both within the team and with otherteams/departments within the Company. Specifically to:Be involved in pre-production and prototype meetings.Participate in other internal meetings, as required.Liaise with design on advice to achieve target margin requirements and on best methods of garment construction.The job involves establishing and maintaining constructive contacts with external organisations and the post holder maybe required to represent the organisation, as appropriate. Specifically to:Liaise with the suppliers on first prices and component details.Work with on-/offshore units to produce accurate FOB/CMT costs.Liaise with local R&D team on developments & innovations which can be introduced to productsGeneralSuch other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.Comply with Company procedures regarding the confidentially and security of information.Practical RequirementsThe post holder may be required to travel within the UK and overseas as and when required. This may involve overnightstays.Key Skills:Sound knowledge of garment manufacturing methods & processes.Effective communication skills both written and oral.Good working knowledge of Lotus Notes and MS Office Suite.Have an ability to work to critical deadlinesBe able to work unsupervised in an accurate, methodical and organised manner with attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritise and multi-taskStrong numeric skillsGSD preferredExperience in using Gerber systems
