You should be able to carry out inspections to enforce food safety, health and safety and otherenvironmental health legislation in low risk premises.You will also be involved in developing contacts with groups and individuals from primary school age to retirement andbeyond, raising awareness of matters relating to a full range of health promotion initiatives.Having excellent communication skills, you must have the ability to undertake a full range of health promotion/educationinitiatives including preparing and delivering lectures, promotions and presentations to a variety of audiences.You should be competent in using Microsoft Office as well as a desktop publishing package for producing leaflets anddisplays. You should have a science based degree (or equivalent) and be prepared toundertake formal training to achieve minimal level of the Ordinary Certificate in Food Premises Inspection.You should also have knowledge of legislation, technical guidance and codes of practice relating to food safety andhealth and safety. Some programmed work will be required outside normal office hours and at weekends and you must have acurrent valid driving licence with access to a vehicle, which you are prepared to use for work purposes.This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment will be conditional upon thereceipt of a satisfactoryresponse to a check of criminal records via the Criminal Records Bureau, before the appointment is confirmed.Enforcement Officer - Post Ref: E106GBP 16,260 - GBP 19,656An experienced individual is required who is able to carry out enforcement initiatives across a range of Council servicesand functions. You will be carrying out inspections, investigating complaints and gathering evidence to enforceenvironmental and otherlegislation.You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, be confident, self-motivated and able to workeffectively with a minimum of direct supervision. You should have a minimum of GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above(or equivalent) and be IT literate.
