Description:

Our Client is looking to recruit an experienced software engineer and systems thinker to support a joint venture thatthey are currently undertaking. The successful candidate will be a key member of a new management team and will beexpected to contribute to business planning and overall future of this progressive organization.The vacant role has three major functions: Team leader / lead programmer in a small team of software engineers and computer scientists. Technical authority on systems development Project management of current and future development programs.The ideal candidate will have hands on technical ability, be able to communicate the company vision widely, and besensitive to the needs of a range of stakeholders including public agencies and private investors.The successful candidate will also possess at least five years commercial software development experience, preferablywith an image analysis/processing background, and have the potential to develop into a Technical Director role. It isalso important that he or she would be attracted by the opportunity to develop in a spin out company backed by theresource of this large organization.Essential Skills and expertise required: Analysis of operational requirements Design of complete software systems Database design and operation, particularly SQL server Microsoft .Net software development (C++, C#) Understanding of image generation hardware Good knowledge of imagery properties and formats Work planning, scheduling and team delivery against agreed milestones Development of team capabilities, on an individual and collective level Comfortable in contacts with customers, likely to include all ranks of PoliceofficersIt is imperative that the successful candidate has permanent residency within the UK is willing to undergo securityclearance before being accepted for this role.
