My client is one of the leading players in the wind energy industry and for the last 25 years has been pivotal in thedevelopment of the wind energy market in the UK and more recently still, is proving to be very successful in theinternational arena.With head offices in the Home Counties (very accessible from the M25) and regional offices across the UK as well asEurope, Japan + the US, the company continues to invest in R+D in order to maintain its leading position in this excitingsector.Integral to its continuing success, the organisation is looking to recruit a talented Development Manager to beresponsible for development activity in Wales from site screening & selection through to consenting and financial closeof wind farming projects.You will manage and implement the Welsh development plan ensuring that it is consistent with UK strategy and businessplan. This will include responsibility for the existing development asset portfolio in Wales. Working independently, youwill be responsible for planning and managing internal and external resource as required to deliver projects, includingengineering and technical support, Environmental Impact Assessment studies, grid studies, consultants, commercial supportand other stakeholders.The PersonThe ideal candidate will have a degree in an engineering, business, planning or science based subject with experience ofdeveloping infrastructure projects. Experience in renewables or conventional power generation is preferred, but notessential. You will have a proven track record of successfully dealing with planning authorities and other projectstakeholders, including landowners, project contractors, external consultants and development partners to deliverprojects. With at least 5 years experience in project management and leadership you will be self-motivated with a keeninterest in the renewable energy sector. Working within the UK development team you will be a team player with goodinterpersonal skills and entrepreneurial abilities. The ability to speak fluent Welsh would be a significant advantage.You should also possess a current UK driving licence.This position will be located in Wales but it is expected that the successful candidate will spend at least one day aweek at head office, north of London Location in Wales will be flexible.Interested candidates are kindly invited to submit their CVs in English and Word format please to Tony Timmins. |
