Were looking for a self-motivated all-rounder who has great technical as well as editorial skills to run and develop aleading online popular science magazine.You will be responsible for acquiring and writing content; maintaining the regular publishing cycle of the site;communicating with its audience; ensuring traffic continues to rise and maximising revenue opportunities.We have immediate ambitions for developing the site as part of a growing new media business and you will play a key partin leading this critical element and perhaps more.Candidate RequirementsWhat are you up to now? By day you will probably be in publishing of some sort, perhaps online and perhaps withtechnology related content. By night you will be glued to Discovery or pimping your blog.You will probably have a science degree and at least 2 experience years in Web production. Good writing and editingskills are essential.You must be confident working with web content production and serving tools as well as being fascinated by and have agood grasp of science and technology.Knowledge of search engine technologies and practical experience of optimisation is valuable.And while some editorial and web production experience is vital - drive, enthusiasm and resourcefulness are as important.We are looking for someone with the following2+ years web production experience (ideally professionally but not absolutely necessary)A keen interest in science and technology (ideally with a science degree)Writing and editing experience (ideally in professional publishing and a science or technology topic)Understanding of search engines (ideally optimisation experience)Web development experienceExperience of Specific software applications should include FTP, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Word, Excel.If interested in this position, simply apply via the button shown. |
