Description:

: Electronics Engineer - Leicestershire The design and development of electronic equipment for the purpose of collecting geophysical data used in the oil and gas exploration field. Take responsibility for the design from concept to production, and throughout its service life. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE Degree in Electronics. 5 Years plus, working in analogue circuit design Good working knowledge in the areas of: * Analogue electronics * Operational Amplifiers * A/D, D/A Conversion * Instrumentation DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE Working knowledge in some of the following areas: * power supplies * Embedded C * 8051 processor * DSP * digital electronics * embedded processors * Assembly language programming * EMC/CE Marking PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Intrinsic interest in electronics design Interest analogue design Drives for results Enthusiastic Good work ethic Attention to detail Integrity and trust Team player Creative and original SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS UK resident Flexibility to work additional hours as required KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Through liaison with the Research and Engineering group, design circuits, with regard to environmental factors (space/pressure/ temperature/vibration), that meet verbal and written specifications. These to be designed to quality and time requirements.2.Build and test prototype circuits to prove out the design, ensuring that it meets required specifications. 3.To provide the PCB designer with full details of the circuits, components and special layout requirements, pre-testing the boards before they are placed into the production system. 4.Write production test specifications for the board, and design any test boxes that may be required. 5. Investigate and seek to resolve any issues arising in connection with the production and operation of equipment.6.Where firmware has been developed, assist with the design and write the code for the downhole micro-controllers through liaison with the software department. 7. Stay in touch with the design throughout its life cycle, modifying and improving it as required.8.To carry out any other duties as reasonably required by the Head of Electronics Engineering.
