Description:

: We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Systems Development Engineer with an emphasis on embedded software, to join a leading company in the field of fire alarm control panels. We are looking for candidates with several years post-graduate experience of developing embedded software in a product development environment. Candidates should have a good appreciation of digital hardware and the complete product development life-cycle. Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required: Essential: An in depth knowledge of the ANSI 'C' programming language in embedded applications. A good appreciation of digital hardware design techniques and standard micro-controller peripherals. Advantageous: Experience development of product including graphical display modules. Experience of revision control software (Microsoft SourceSafe in particular). Experience of development with Mitsubishi M16C micro-controllers / Microchip 'PIC' micro-controllers. Bespoke network and communication protocol experience. Knowledge of Embedded Real Time Operating Systems. Knowledge of MISRA-C coding guidelines. Experience of code generation tools (IAR VisualState, I-Logix Rhapsody). Experience with EMC approval on microprocessor based products. Knowledge of the Fire industry & Standards (EN54, BS5839) Appreciation of product safety Standards (EN 60950) Knowledge of the Modula-2 software coding language.
