Embedded Software/Logical Layer 1 RJ-0171GBP 30,000 GBP 45,000 + Pension, Health & PHI BerkshireAre you looking to work in real time embedded C or assembler on protocol software for the next generation of mobilecommunications, GSM, GPRS or UMTS for one of the major players in this market sector? You will need a good honours degreeplus the following specific skills: three years experience developing real-time embedded software in C, RTOS, at least2 years Layer 1 (Physical & Logical) development for GSM or UMTS (BCAF, MRTR, MAC) or equivalent, PC / UNIX softwaredevelopment environments and use of integration tools (emulators, logic analysers, test equipment). You will beresponsible for design, code, test and integration of additional Logical Layer 1 functionality and features required forGSM, GPRS or UMTS stacks (implementing in SDL and C), host testing and target testing, support of integration andvalidation teams and ensuring compliance with respective ETSI specifications. At Task Leader level you will also taketechnical responsibility for an area of Logical Layer 1, inputting into project plans / timescale estimation and coaching/ mentoring of more junior staff.
