ClientThe client, part of a major multi national corporation, manufactures and markets a range of mechanical seals and flexiblepower transmission couplings.Position Overview.They are seeking an enthusiastic engineer technician to work within the Turbo Gas Seals development team on the nextgeneration of seals. As such, you will be responsible for carrying out the assembly and testing of new designs of gasseals and theyre supporting systems. The successful candidate is expected to mature into a key member of the engineeringdepartment, supporting and improving the clients position as the global market leader in gas seal technology.Responsibilities.Working under the engineering project manager, you will be expected to provide technician support for the new developmentprogrammes. This will provide varied work, with tasks expected to include: Preparation and measurement of precision parts to fine tolerances. Full building and testing of gas seal assemblies and test rigs. Create the build and assembly procedures Assist with preparation of the test programmes and assembly of the necessary test equipment The preparation, recording and administration of test data and inspection reports Liasing with supplies to ensure quality of external parts and servicesThe Selection CriteriaHND or HNC engineering qualification City & Guilds maybe considered for exceptional candidates.Knowledge of test instrumentation and data loggingPractical experience within a work shop or test bay environmentAn understanding of manufacturing processesAble to adopt a pro-active and flexible approach to work that allows the candidate to work independently as well as partof a team.Good communication skills are essential including verbal, report writing and simple presentations.A limited amount of foreign travel will be required.Rowe & Co.
