Our client is a leading company in the rail engineering sector who specialise in the refurbishment, overhaul, redesign and rebuild of rail vehicles and components.An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced rail industry professional who will be responsible for ensuring that the company engineering function satifies all the necessary legislative, industry and business needs.The role reports direct to the Managing Director and will be a member of the Senior Management team. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the existing compliment of Project Engineers and Designers. As the business is in a growth phase the Engineering Manger will be responsible for developing this team to meet the business needs.Duties and Responsibilities:* Management of the engineering function and ensuring that all necessary deadlines are met* Take responsibility for the output of engineering data* Maintain responsibility for the BoM and the ERP technical inputs* Support the Sales & Marketing function with tender conceptual designs and estimates* Provide a key input to the Senior Management Group* Represent the company as appropriateQualifications, Attributes and Experience:* A degree qualified engineer, ideally Chartered* An excellent "man-manager" with the ability to "sell" ideas and concepts* Experience of both rail vehicle and component engineering would be highly desirable* A willingness to relocate to the West Coast of Scotland |
