ClientThe client, part of a major multi national corporation, manufactures and markets a range of mechanical seals and flexiblepower transmission couplings.Position Overview.For the continued future growth of the Gas Seal business, several key long term engineering development projects havebeen identified. These projects have significant technical challenges to be overcome in order to bring new products tomarket. As engineering project manager you will be required to: Identify the significant technical challenges Develop and evaluate initial design concepts Develop prototype to completion providing a robust and reliable final design to planSuccessful completion of this project will provide the client with a substantial leap in technology that will reinforcetheir position as the global market leader.Responsibilities.Reporting to the Product Engineering Director, the successful candidate will take full responsibility for the developmentproject, this will include: The engineering and design authority for the development programme. Comply with Environmental and Lloyds audit requirements Developing the plan to include full details of programme tasks and time scales Managing the project development and mentor the team utilising your broad engineering skills and experiences. Resolving conflicts to deliver the project on time and to plan. Manage internal / external customer liaison and issues.The Selection CriteriaThe following skills and attributes will be required: A history of engineering product development A minimum of first engineering degree qualification Strong professional approach to analytical and problem solving. Effective team leadership and management skills A full understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics and solid mechanics will be essential.
