Our Client, an international oil/gas design and construction contractor, are currently seeking Estimators/SeniorEstimators to join their estimating group due to an increase in workload.Basic Function:To plan specific work and to proivde cost estimates which are complete fully auditable assessed for accuracy uncertainiesrisk and contingencies in accordance with the authorised estimate plans and which satisfy the Client presentationrequirements.From time to time may be required to work on several estimates simultaneously and to supervise junior staff.Check all available documentatino relative to an assigned estimate.Plan work to meet the required schedule with minimum use of overtime. Work planning includes expediting the plannedinputs from other workgroups to ensure the maintenance of the estimate schedule.Ensure that estimating is carried out in accordance with approved practices and published procedures.Assemble and collate the final estimate of costs workhours and quantities and present them for review.Analyse areas of uncertainty and risk within an estimate and make recommendations of a cost allowance to bring theestimate to the required confidence level.Maintain detailed records of all costs workhours quantities etc forming part of the base estimate of costs and of allchanges eg during proposal negotiations arising after formal approval of the estimate.Qualification/Experience:Engineering degree and/or certification as a Cost Engineer or equivalent.Eight years or more engineering experience of which five years in an estimating function is preferred.Must exercise some skill in communications and interpersonal relationships with supervisory staff in Estimating and niother workgroups and may be required to supervise junior staff from time to time.Salary: in the region of GBP 26,000 - GBP 35,000 |
