: As a Graduate Materials Scientist/Metallurgist, you will keep accurate and comprehensive training records, develop a working knowledge of our client's safety systems, culture and local work instructions as well as having a working knowledge of Materials and Manufacturing programmes and the specific materials issues associated with them. You will be responsible for preparing technical reports in response to task requirements. Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate subject (Materials Science, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering), other science and engineering subjects will be considered provided there is strong metallurgical content or relevant post graduate experience. You will have a broad knowledge and genuine interest in materials properties, materials manufacturing processes, materials testing and related technologies. A good knowledge of engineering materials and how their properties are influenced by processing techniques and microstructure is also required together with a good appreciation of mechanical testing and metallographic techniques. You will have practical and academic experience in metallurgical/ materials testing/engineering labs as well as being familiar with the use of materials testing lab equipment and instrumentation and have practical experience of metal forming processes.
