: Hardware Design Engineer - Buckinghamshire New projects require that the hardware development team is to be expanded through the addition of a design engineer. The position would match a graduate electronics engineer, with two to five years experience in a primarily digital development environment. Experience with programmable logic is necessary, as is experience of developing software on embedded platforms. The role would appear to someone who wishes to develop new skills in the fast moving convergent technologies revolution. The position calls for previous experience in the following areas : demonstrable VHDL skills demonstrable C skills experience of design flow from schematic capture through to PCB layout experience of programmable logic design & validation workflow experience of introducing a card to production The following technology areas are complementary to the core skills & experience : good understanding of signal integrity issues on multi-layer PCBs knowledge of PCI/PCI Express/ethernet interfaces advantageous knowledge of design for test strategies for digital products including boundary scan knowledge of embedded processor architectures, particularly soft IP cores (e.g. Microblaze, NIOS) knowledge of EMC management strategies during circuit and system design
