Typical projects involve complex systems and incorporateconsiderable technical challenges. The company combines highly creative lateral thinking with excellent technical skillsand a broad base of industry experience to form a powerful development team. Their work ranges from undertaking completeproduct developments from concept to market, to providing consulting services for our clients on their technology,strategy or development processes.Specific responsibilitiesInitially, this position involves taking roles within product development projects with exposure to all aspects ofdevelopment from contract negotiation to final delivery. You will be involved in concept generation and analysis,creation of system designs, mechanical design, presenting solutions to colleagues and clients and liaison with otherdesigners, engineers and scientists in the project team. You will have contact with clients at an early stage, gettinginvolved in defining work programmes, holding workshops and giving presentations. You will manage tasks within projectsrequiring delivery within tight timescales and budgets, managing both internal and external resources. This will developrapidly into management of projects, having full responsibility for delivery to our clients. This is an excellentopportunity for a product designer with the ambition and ability to achieve excellent results in a highly demandingindustry and to find novel and radical solutions to new and existing problems under tough commercial and time restraints.Minimum requirementsTo meet the demanding requirements of this role you will have an excellent first degree in industrial / product design,or mechanical engineering with a strong bias towards design, and at least two years experience in an industrial design orproduct design environment. You should be passionate about design with a strong creative flair and be a good team player,attributes we will expect you to demonstrate during the interview process. Hands-on experience of 3D CAD (Pro/Engineer,SolidWorks or similar) is a pre-requisite.
