Description:

Our client is a leading supplier of Communication devices to the utilities, emergency and transport sectors. Due to itssuccess in capturing a large worldwide market share they are expanding.The Role will involve the following: Production of Integration Test Specs To perform integration testing Production of automated test scripts To investigate and assist in the resolution of fault reports Involvement in full software development lifecycle (e.g. reviewing functional specs and architectural designs) To maintain the development test environment To develop the integration test techniques, policies and environment To man manage a small integration teamDESCRIPTION OF PERSON (Main skills, personal attributes):Technical skills (essential):▪ Experience of embedded software development on real time systems▪ Good understanding of the C programming language▪ Experience of debugging at the hardware/software interface level (e.g. use of ICE, scopes, etc)▪ Experience of automated testing (using in-house and/or 3rd party tools)▪ Knowledge of scripting languages▪ Experience of using configuration management and fault tracking tools▪ Working knowledge of MS Office applications▪ Understanding of the full software development life-cycle (from requirements through to system test)Technical skills (desirable):▪ Working knowledge of the TETRA standardsPersonal attributes (essential):▪ Enthusiastic, communicative and inquisitive individual▪ Motivated by producing quality work within planned timescales▪ Customer (internal and external) focused▪ Structured in his/her working practices with a practical understanding of quality software development processes▪ Flexible with a whatever it takes attitude▪ Committed to process improvement▪ GraduatePersonal attributes (desirable):▪ Experience of working in a small/medium size high tech company▪ Commercially aware
