GBP 18,000 to GBP 23,000 per year (upto GBP 22k)

MUST RESIDES within 25 mins drive of Milton KeynesTHE COMPANYA project company providing control system solutions across various industry sectors. The projects are typically GBP 50k toGBP 2M for systems based around PCs, PLCs, HMIs, drives and power components. The largest area of business currently iscontrol systems for Newspaper Printing Presses. The Company is looking to bring in new graduate-level engineers lookingto find a strong team to join and really gain some great experience.THE JOBOverviewThe successful applicant will have a degree and a strong appetite and aptitude for learning. A strong work ethic is amust. There will be extensive on-the-job training and mentoring in a very supportive, yet demanding, environment. Clarityof thought and a logical / analytical approach is required. There are opportunities for advancement along a technicalpath or a more management orientated path.Job DescriptionThe Junior Software Engineer will be involved in the following activitiesSpecification, writing, testing and commissioning of software including Visual Basic, C++, PLC and various HMIsSupporting customers on the phone and also attending customer sitesLiaising closely with the rest of the project team to ensure that the software and system integrates well and meets thecustomers overall needs.ConditionsReports to the Engineering ManagerNominal 36 -hour week.Contributory pension scheme.26 days paid leave per annum (refer to conditions of employment for full details).3 months paid sick leave per annum (refer to conditions of employment).24-hour support telephone cover for one week approximately every two months (for which an extra payment is made).THE PERSONEssential AttributesHave a full UK driving licence and passport.Have a degree in an appropriate branch of electrical / electronic / software engineering.Be of a smart and presentable appearance.Able to communicate effectivelyAble to write English concisely, with good grammar and spelling.Able to work efficiently on own initiative whilst being a team player.Have a conscientious and thorough approach.Able to anticipate problems and take pro-active steps to eliminate them.Have the willingness and ability to quickly assimilate new technologies and processes and "Have a go".Be prepared to attend site to assist with commissioning should this be required.Must live within 20-30 minutes travelling distance.Desirable AttributesHave proven experience in an industrial environment that embraces electrical and electronic hardware and softwareapplications.Have previous experience of some of the following: PLCs, drives, HMIs, control systems, electrical hardware and writingsoftware for PLC or PC-based systems.Have the ability to see the "big picture" from a study of the details.Possess a general flexibility to get involved in any activities required to make the project work.Prepared to work towards attaining a higher standard of engineering and productivity within the department.
