: This rapidly expanding division of a major UK plc has a growing presence and significant track record for delivery within the Aerospace and Defence industries. They are strategic suppliers to Airbus and Rolls-Royce and are thus in a pivotal position on developing major new aerospace programmes. The role holder will be a member of the Systems Department within the Aviation & Defence Systems Division located in Bristol. They will be required to work as part of a team on system design, modelling and analysis with the objective of meeting the requirements of both Civil and Military customers. The role will also include liaison with systems and equipment suppliers. You will be involved in the definition of design requirements from aircraft/systems level and airworthiness regulations; design integration; verification/validation; and in-service support. With an HNC/Degree in an engineering or related discipline this role requires a good engineering background (Mechanical/Hydraulic) with the ability to derive detailed design requirements from first principles. The successful applicant should have a good knowledge of the following: structural design (fatigue and static); hydraulic system/component design; mechanism design; qualification testing; airworthiness/certification requirements; familiarity with systems engineering processes; and system definition to safety, reliability, maintainability and particular risk requirements.
