: Layer 1 Embedded Software Engineer - London and Avon Our client is seeking a Layer 1 Embedded Software Engineer initially on a contract moving to a permanent role. The position would be London based, but will require on site assignment work in Avon. Main Purpose of the Job -Development of L1 software in a software defined radio system. The role may grow to include L2 processing. Key Responsibilities 1.Implementation of L1 processing, coded in both C and Assembler. Responsibilities will include the development of complete baseband physical layer transceivers, including DSP and control algorithms, hardware drivers, APIs, code integration onto multiple SDR platforms. The initial role will be working as part of a cross-site team developing an 802.16e OFDMA BS implementation. 2.System testing, including L2/L1 interface, L1 protocol / control and physical layer performance . Integration testing with terminal equipment and support for formal conformance testing. 3.Technical liaison Software, Hardware, Radio and Systems Engineerings teams and with chosen sub-contractors. 4.Work in accordance with the company's Quality Management System and policies. Education and Experience 1.Minimum Bachelors Degree in an Science / Engineering related discipline. 2.At least 3 years experience implementing L1 and embedded software designs in wireless systems. 3.Experience in some or all of the following:Assembler / C / C++Parallel processingDSPDevice driversEmbedded Linux UML 4.High level system modelling using appropriate software tools (Matlab). 5.Logical approach to problem solving. |
