The Group are looking for an experienced Technical Linux Developer to lead in the development of its internal systems,data centre and its leading technology products it provides to its education and corporate customers across the UK. OurClient have existing solutions built around Linux, C, PHP and MYSQL. The ideal candidate should be able to approach theseexisting products and understand the workings of them and subsequently further improve functionality, reliability andfeatures including automating repetitive tasks. As the leading developer you must know how to approach new requirements,understand what customers require and understand that documentation is important. This person should be capable of makinghigh level design decisions, be a team player and have leadership skill.The developer will need to have the following skills. The most important are first:- Ansi C- C++- Linux Kernel programming- MYSQL- Debien / CENTOS- PHP- Java/ JBOSS- XML- Good all round networking skills routing, switching, Firewalling, VPNs, tunnelling - preferable- System admin preferable- Debian Linux - [installation and use of the operating system, the Debian bug tracking system]- Internet mail systems - [prefer knowledge of Postfix+LDAP, Amavis, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, MS Exchange, SquirrelMail]- Web servers - [Apache configuration]- DNS - Bind9, Dynamic updates via DHCP- Using Linux for LAN administration - [Samba+LDAP, DHCP, Squid, IMAP]- Linux Firewalls and VPN [X509, ISAKMPD, FreeS/WAN, IPsec, IPtables, IPchains]- Wide Area Networks [desirable skills are Cisco routers, ADSL, Leased Line]Education - theoretical background, typical degrees are Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Science (with a majorin Comp Science) or Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Computer or Software)To take advantage of this fantastic opportunity simply apply via the button shown.
