I am delightedto present a fantastic opportunity for an MQ Series Specialist with a strong background in Systems Administration, tojoin an organisation that is famed for its staff development with genuinely unparalleled training facilities, andopportunity with ample scope to develop new tools and manage projects.Please do not apply unless you have been working in an ULTRA High Availability Environment with MQSeries, and haveBona-Fide X-platform UNIX roles.As the successful candidate, you will work within this dynamic team, focussed in the MQSeries and Middleware areas (EGApplication Servers) and also be tasked with maintaining and developing the underlying UNIX sub-systems, the ULTRA HighAvailability (HA) Global Content Delivery platform for the World. Therefore as Systems Administrator you will optimiseuptime and ensure seamless deployment of new applications and upgrades.Essential Qualifying Criteria1st Class or 2.i Degree in a Technical, Scientific or Mathematical Subject, from a top 20 University.A-B Grade A-levelsDeep experience in MQ Series, Websphere, Apache.At least 3 years of High Availability (Ideally Clustered) Systems Administration Experience in LINUXANDAt least 3 years of High Availability (Ideally Clustered) Systems Administration Experience in SolarisANDAt least 1 year of High Availability AIX Systems Administration experiencePerl Programming and Scripting skillsC Programming skills for tools development or task automationShell ScriptsUNIX Internals knowledgeSAN, NAS, Netapp, Veritas, Server Virtualisation or other Backup/Storage technologiesNice to haveA broad but deep understanding of, and interest in Security TechnologiesSUN or RHCE Certification would be an advantage.A background in one of the following sectors would be a significant advantageHedge Fund, Fund ManagersInteractive Digital TV, Digital Broadcast, iDTV, IPTV, LiberateLarge-Scale Content Delivery, ECM, Enterprise Content ManagementSTP/Fix or Trading Platforms and SystemsNews/Media Feeds (EG Swift, Reuters, Bloomberg, Primark)Beyond these technical skills, we are also looking for proven project management capabilities, exceptional communicationskills, and a commitment to doing the best possible job, every time.
