KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: To use dedicated management systems to manage the network (and associated technologies). Provide technical support to internal and external customers in a 24 x 7 operation. With the use of monitoring tools and network information be able to resolve faults in a consistent professional andtimely manner in conjunction with customer SLAs. Performs trouble-shooting and coordinates with engineers and 3rd parties to escalate, resolve and close troubletickets. Responsible for Buildings management alarm system, 3rd party liaison and closure of faults. Provide updates as necessary to the NOC manager and affected internal and external customers. Co-ordinates with on site engineers to escalate resolve and close faults within agreed timescales. To understand & implement company processes in a pressurised rapidly changing environment. To work in a team of network analysts, working in a 24 x 7 x 365 environment. Performs some hardware installation at Operations centre where required.THE CANDIDATE: 4 years experience in a customer focused operation Proven use of SDH/DWDM Network Management applications Strong SDH, TCP/IP and/or Frame relay skills Ability to prioritise, stage and resolve customer & network faults Experience of resolving complex customer problems/issues within agreed timescales Good knowledge of Telecoms or Data /products/services General PC skills including MS office: Access, Word, Excel or similar Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal are essential Ability to work under own initiative but a proven team player Flexible and able to work unsupervised in a 24/7 working environment Ability to deliver in an environment of rapid change Willingness to learn new skills, new monitoring and fault clearance applications and new processes.THE CANDIDATE:Problem Analysis Able to identify issues, seek relevant data, recognise important information and be able to diagnose the possiblecauses Asks appropriate, probing questions to obtain the appropriate information Takes a logical and organised approach to problem solving Identifies the root cause of problems and takes positive action to prevent reoccurrenceProfessional / Technical Competence Provides advice and guidance in area of technical/professional specialism key to supporting decisionsSupplier and/or Customer Management Ability to develop and maintain strong operational relations with Customers/Suppliers balancing internal and externalexpectations Ensures communication channels and processes are in place to effectively manage/monitor performance Anticipates needs and takes a proactive approach in addressing them |
