: PURPOSE OF ROLE An excellent opportunity to join our clients network infrastructure pre-sales support team, assisting the sales force in winning and delivering infrastructure business by contributing to tender responses, visiting customer sites, and presentations. Working closely with the other pre-sales practices: IP convergence; Security and Storage and also with the Bid Management team. Building strong relationships at a technical level with customers and working closely with the sales to further development of these accounts. Writing design and configuration documentation for managed services. CRITICAL TASKS Work with a large team of pre-sales consultants Provide pre-sales support including presentations and tender response support Provide consultancy support covering Network Technology professional services Actively engage with vendor partners Ensure that all activities of the position comply with legal and ethical standards Perform other tasks and activities as and when required REQUIREMENTS At least 5 years broad based data network design experience with 1+ years experience as a Pre-Sales consultant. Sound commercial sense and experience of working with third parties Able to work to demanding deadlines Ability to provide written responses to tenders Confidence in a customer facing role In addition to general networking aptitude, particular areas of technical expertise should include as many of the following as possible: Candidates should have demonstrable Cisco knowledge and experience. A good knowledge of other vendors equipment is highly desirable, e.g. Extreme, 3Com, Nortel, Foundry A knowledge of carrier services, specifically BT Ability to design a meaningful comparison between similar products from different vendors. Network technical skills (LAN, WAN, MAN, Wired and wireless technologies, SAN technologies also desirable) QUALIFICATIONS Graduate or qualified by experience Up to date and relevant manufacturers accreditation
