Within NM Centre is the overall project coordination role for the delivery of all new/updated car projects. NMC throughcommunication with key engineering functions within Japan, define KPI s for the delivery of new projects, ensure thisinformation is communicated to UK manufacturing functions for analysis (Press, Weld, Paint, Engine, Assembly,etc), & monitor & coordinate achievement of these goals through the project life cycleThe department develops & coordinates an overall project timing plan which defines the milestone delivery necessary forprocess, quality, & technical maturation, & ensures that new vehicles are delivered in to the production arena on time,in budget, & at the right quality.Also the department has key responsibility of coordinating timing & build activities for all prototype & pre-productionvehicles in line with the overall quality maturation, test, & vendor supplier requirements.Within the context of the above the NMC PL is responsible:Development & communication of overall project timing & subsequent detail management of this to ensure overall projecttiming is achieved.Instigate requests for department team support to ensure that an effective organisation is in place to support theproject & that quality communication is being achieved.In order to measure the ongoing success (or not) of theproject, key milestone reviews are held with seniormanagement in order to communicate project health. TheNMC PL will be instrumental in coordinating the detailed daily activities required from the overall project team requiredto deliver an effective overall presentation.NMC PL is responsible for coordination of support for offsite build phases (normally Japan based) & ensures that thegoals of each visit are clearly defined & achieved.After initial Design phase has been achieved NMC PL is then responsible for coordinating factory build timing & supportto ensure that pre-production units are delivered within the project time frames & stipulated customers receive thereunits in time for continuing project requirements (Test, Homologation, Sales, etc).Working with NMC Cost Project Leader, the NMC PL willensure that individual departments are delivering their projects within the originally agreed cost targets.QualificationsCandidate will have achieved HNC/D (or equivalent) inmechanical or production engineering.ExperienceCandidate will have a strong background in projectengineering with preferably an automotive background (direct or supplier).Candidate will be able to demonstrate strong involvement in previous major projects & give examples of where they havecoordinated a wide group of departments/individualsCandidates must have a strong project timing capability & ability to use Microsoft Project or an alternative packagewould be desirable.Candidates should be able to demonstrate previous budget management skills & highlight previous successes of achievingoverall cost targets.Additional Requirements:Candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to coordinate across many departments & up or down themanagement structure.Candidate will be a good problem solver who is readily able to support & lead organisational & technical problemresolution discussions.Project requirements dictate that the candidate will have a flexible approach to working hours & travel (Japan travel ispossible).Good computer literacy is expected
