They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Ecologist to join their Gloucestershire based team.The role will involve the provision of expert technical input into surveys and assessments and managing projects andsurvey teams. This will include budgets and control of output quality. The successful candidate will also be expected toassess impacts and design mitigation strategies including the production and submission of DEFRA license applicationswhilst working as part of a wider team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential as report writingand client/colleague liaising will be necessary.Applicants must hold a 1st degree in an ecology related subject and preferably a relevant Masters degree. IEEM membershipis highly desirable. A minimum of 4 years experience working in a consultancy environment is essential as is a soundknowledge of terrestrial ecology in the UK. Experience in the design and implementation of mitigation schemes and goodworking knowledge of environmental law is also required.
