An established software/CAE product provider to the specialist niche industry sector of driveline/power transmissiondesign, is currently actively seeking to enhance their established development team with a principal engineer.The role will hold responsibility for lead design and programme management directly related to external customerdevelopment projects. This will entail a high degree of management and customer liaison skills along with exceptionalabilities and experiences in engineering design and analysis of transmission/driveline products. The right candidateideally would be a postgraduate with a minimum of 5 years design and development experience, biased towards gearboxtechnology.Key areas:Strong 3D CAD design of mechanical componentsExcellent knowledge of non-linear and linear FE techniques and software toolsGood understanding of casting and casing design and analysisNew product development exposureMinimum 3 years automotive experienceExcellent project management skills and abilitiesThe position will offer excellent product training and team support from initial start of employment that will continuethrough the career path of the position.Due to the essential skills and experiences needed for this position, candidates who reside outside of the UK will alsobe considered for this role, but it is essential that any successful candidate will be able to obtain a work permit andrelocate to the UK in a short time period.Keywords: Transmission, Gearbox, Driveline
