THE SEMICONDUCTOR INDUSTRY NEEDSYOU !!My Client, a pioneer and leading provider of complete semiconductor modular solutions for digital multimedia products arecurrently looking for a dynamic Principal Engineer to join their expanding team in Cambridge.This is a senior position within the engineering team with significant opportunities to contribute knowledge in bothprocess and product related areas and influence the shape of the business.Purpose: To develop subsystem solutions and modules to satisfy customer expectations in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery time(QCD). To project lead within the hardware function. To contribute radio frequency design skills. To create, establish and promote best practice processes, methods and procedures. To develop and protect our investment in personnel and equipment assets. To assist the department in being more effective.Detailed Duties / Responsibilities: Responsibility and accountability for the detailed engineering design of radio and antenna sections and systemintegration.o Contributing skills in radio frequency, thermal, mechanical design, PCB placement, component selections,EMC/RFI,DFM/DFT, BoM costs and management.o Frequencies to be worked on will include Band II, Band III, L Band and EMC test ranges.o Working with established antenna designs and integration at PCB level.o Collaborating with other design teams including RF, SW, RFIC, etc to establish effective system architectures andinterfaces.o Using best, systematic methods for requirements capture, solution modelling/simulation, development, verification andvalidation, handover packages, trials, support and training. Establish effective interfaces to other departments including (but not limited to), marketing / sales operations /manufacturing / service / standards orgs / component suppliers. Responsibility for shipped product definition and also test / development product definition. Responsibility for project definition, task definition / resource allocation within the project and direction ofsubordinates to complete their tasks. Responsibilities at all stages of maturity from feasibility, through proto / breadboards to finished production assets. In line with business goals and its top level policies, support and implement processes and operational policiesrelevant to work practices, product tools and workflow. Operate configuration, documentation, change management and product review procedures in line with company policies,creating, reviewing and authorising appropriate documentation. Provide support in solving systems problems and to other departments including factory. Liaison with suppliers and subcontractors as well as other internal departments. Maintain current and forward looking domain engineering knowledge and disseminate that knowledge to the company asrequired. Contribute to staff development (recruitment / appraisals / training) acting as mentor. Will inspire staff towardhigher achievement.Qualifications: Degree qualified to a level of minimum 2:1 classification in Electronic Engineering or equivalent training andexperience. Microsoft Office literate.Essential Experience: Minimum 10 years post grad relevant circuit design development and evaluation. Application and management of RF CAD tools (EESOF, ADS). Experience of high volume low cost development and production processes. Design for consumer product, mass production. Direct experience of several iterations of the complete product lifecycle. Team / personnel leadership min 5 years. Project leadership min 5 years. Leadership of a unit within a large multidisciplinary project.Desirable Experience: Close inter-working and control of technology suppliers. Digital audio / video broadcast design and development. Knowledge of mobile product development. ATE hardware and software e.g. HP VEE |
