My Client specialises in the manufacture and maintenance of gas turbine engines for the aerospace industry.Due to continuing expansion, my Client requires a Process Engineer, within their Maintenance, Repair and Overhaulbusiness.Specialising in Gas turbine systems for aerospace and defence industries and serves many of the worlds leading aerospaceand defence companies.MRO Process EngineerThe primary function of this post is to develop the Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy for the Maintenance, Repair &Overhaul (MRO) business process and lead the implementation of improvements on a day-to-day basis. The Process Engineerwill act as a change agent in support of the Companys aims and objectives.Activities:1. Develop and lead process re-engineering within MRO division.2. Manage general continuous improvement initiatives.3. Act as a coordinator between process owners to ensure an integrated approach to process planning.4. Ensure integration of organisational structure, processes, skills and systems for optimum performance.5. Implement a performance management system (PMS), and generate business wide ownership of the system.6. Use the PMS to analyse data from key processes to identify and manage specific improvement projects agreed each yearby the business.7. Support in application of lean principles and best practice.8. Provide the business with a topical overview of all processes by mapping in Control.9. Coordinate with the Company Process Manager on the businesses continuous improvement plan and inter-businessprocesses.10. Ensure processes comply with ISO and CAA standards.11. Undertake scheduled audits.12. Investigate non compliance and ensure corrective action is taken as required to business processes.13. Manage the improvement ideas & suggestion process.14. Ensure the competence of staff match both process and system requirements.15. Foster a team environment of continuous improvement within MRO.Reporting:The process engineer will report to the General Manager of the MRO business.Candidate requirements: Degree / HND in engineering or a related discipline. Specialist knowledge of continuous improvement philosophies, including lean, and skilled in the application of theassociated tools. Knowledge in the application of performance management systems would be beneficial. Minimum of 3-years Aerospace industry experience as a Process Engineer or similar role. Experience and demonstrated success in leading and facilitating continuous improvement initiatives and business processchanges. Experience within an aviation MRO environment would be a distinct advantage. Professional presentation and communication skills are essential. Well developed IT capability with the ability to use Microsoft Office. Proactive and highly self-motivated personality with the ability to energise others to achieve agreed goals. Ability to work as part of a team and to positively influence other team members. Innovative and creative approach to problem solving. Proven leadership skills with the desire and ability to grow in the role and within the organisation. |
