Our client is a UK recognised supplier of leading edge telecoms products including telephone systems, CTI applicationsand call Centre solutions. There is now a requirement for a Product Manager to join the company. This is a key positionworking with market leading products. The ideal candidate will have a broad background. A good technical understanding onPABX systems e.g Avaya (MiltiVantage / IP Office) Mitel, Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung, Intertel or similar systems. A goodgrasp of technologies such as Call Centres / VOIP / IP Telephony. These technical skills will be allied with excellentcommercial skills e.g a strong marketing background, sales , pre- sales. The successful candidate will have the 2elements, technical / product knowledge of PABX / VOIP and strong marketing / commercial knowledge. Specific producttraining can be provided by the employer. Ideal living location is Surrey. A excellent opportunity to join a marketleader.Job description.Key Function (What is the key reason(s) for this position to exist)To plan, manage and report on the Avaya portfolio and services, to maximise our client's value-add and ensure success, interms of both revenue and profitability, in all applicable territories. Central to this is to work with our vendors todevelop and communicate compelling solution propositions for client, their Resellers and their end users.Main areas of responsibility1. Product Ownershipa. Develop and utilise appropriate processes for managing all stages of the product lifecycle, this includes improvingcurrent working practices to increase efficiency.b. Provide ownership for the complete supply chain from vendor through our client to the Resellerc. Ensure all our client's business areas are adding maximum value.d. Implement and manage revenue programmes with the assistance of product and/or channel marketing resource.e. Introduce complementary service and training offers to maximise revenues.f. Develop and support our client or Vendor accreditation programmes where appropriate.2. Planning and reportinga. Develop and maintain product plans that project country revenue and resource for 24 months together with sales andmarketing activity to be undertaken.b. Produce a monthly report that tracks actual business levels and activities against product and business plans bycountry.c. Monitor and report on competitor activity as required.d. Highlight and produce business plans for complementary product opportunities.3. Communicationa. Be responsible for all communication (internal and external) and requests for information relating to the products andservices, ensuring they are appropriate, timely and accurate.b. Develop sales and marketing tools to aid our client and Reseller sales teams to easily understand the productapplications and proposition.c. To provide advice and direction to less experienced members the team and to ensure best working practices are adopted.Working relationshipsInternal - It is vital that good working relationships and efficient communication channels are developed with all areasof the business to ensure the maximum level of value-add is achieved across the product and services portfolio.External - Equally important are relationships with our suppliers. The role of a product manager therefore includesidentifying and communicating successfully with relevant people within our supplier's organisations, as necessary toachieve a good flow of communication.Key Competencies1. The ability to manage complex "projects" or activities.2. The ability to communicate accurately and efficiently via many different media.3. Be technically competent in order to understand products and develop propositions.4. Be self-motivated and use own initiative to acquire new skills and resolve issues.5.
