: My client is offering a fantastic opportunity to join their winning team. I am looking to recruit a Product Support Engineer in the Birmingham area. You will be responsible for providing technical and application support to global customer on the companys customer management software solutions. This role will also include responding to and resolving clients service requests in accordance to requirements, maintaining timely, complete and accurate problem status data, resolving routine and complex end-user problems in assigned product areas, replicating reported problems, authoring technical notes and /or producing white papers for companys knowledge base and to provide remote technical upgrade services on the companys solutions. Therefore you will have at least two years Cobol and mainframe experience. (Programming support) Along with the ability to problem shoot in a multi-tire enterprise application database (DB2) and network connectivity problems in mainframe (zOS, CICS/TS) environments. You will also have a solid working knowledge of IBM mainframe and understanding of PC debug tools, AS400, relational databases. Experience with IBM JCL, TSO, standard utilities including SORT, IDCAMS would be useful. Any exposure to Java, ODBC, JDBC are desirable as is any European languages.
