A Tier 1, global automotive company that manufactures plastic moulded components requires a Production Planning Manager.RESPONSIBLE FOR:1. The achievement of all customers volume requirements on time as stated and agreed within each project brief.2. The achievement of all extraordinary customer requirements as and when highlighted but at no extra cost to thecompany.3. The achievement of all key measurables in relation to stock levels, supplier performance and customer satisfaction.4. The monitoring of capacity utilization for a rolling 12 month period.QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:1. Experience of Production Planning at a Senior Level2. Good academic background ideally degree qualified.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:1. To ensure that schedules are received, analysed and monitored for all customers.2. To ensure that these customer requirements are converted into a feasible master production schedule.3. To ensure that the appropriate suppliers are properly scheduled, based upon the purchase requirements output from MRP.4. To ensure that these schedules are achieved and to monitor overall performance against preset performance measurables.5. To oversee the formulation of a weekly production plan for all production areas, taking into account all materialavailability, capacity constraints and stock holdings.6. To review capacity utilization against forecast sales.7. To monitor the production output against the given plan, and to analyse basic failures to achieve the setrequirements.8. To be aware of general production and technical constraints at all times.9. To monitor arrears and propose actions for their removal.10. To bring to Directors attention any potential future customer supply failures.11. To oversee the weekly running of MPS/MRP.12. To ensure that accurate Sage order records are maintained for all schedule requirements.13. To promote the usage of the Sage Enterprise ERP system wherever applicable.14. To further develop (in conjunction with other departments) all systems necessary for the company to fully utilise allapplicable applications within MPS, MRP and any capacity planning tools available to the department.15. To continuously investigate new methods of increasing the throughput of Work-In-Progress and at the same timereducing the stock of the same e.g. Kanban or Lean Manufacturing.16. To monitor the companies delivery performance against customer schedules on a weekly basis, and to achieveperformance measurables.17. To monitor stock levels against customer requirements and predetermined inventory policies, with the aim of keepingthe overall stock value to a minimum, but at the same time ensuring sufficient stock is always available to meet allproduction demands.18. To monitor raw material and bought out part levels against customer requirements and predetermined inventorypolicies, with the aim of keeping the overall stock value to a minimum, but at the same time ensuring sufficient stock isalways available to meet all production demands.19. To produce a three-month manufacturing forecast and to provide comparisons with weekly plant variance reports whenrequired.20. To keep all costs to the Company to a minimum, specifically those associated with transport and storage.21. To lead the continuous development of all system, procedures and work instructions necessary to ensure that thedepartment fully complies with all aspects of QS9000 and ISO 14001.22. To work closely with all other internal departments (specifically purchasing), and to ensure that all requestedinformation is provided in a timely manner.23. To undertake other such duties which are consistent with the nature of the job and the level of responsibility.
