Activities and ResponsibilitiesTo follow the company Quality proceduresProduction Test * To ensure that all product batches, are tested with the current Production Test procedure, as a complete batch. Batch failures will be reworked within the batch time. * To produce a batch test report detailing any problems with the batch. This report to be passed back to production for action. * Any failures not repaired within the batch time to go to the rework shelf. Sales Order Book * To review the order book and plan work required to have the Sales order ready for despatch 24 hrs before its ship date. * To final test customer configured orders to ensure that they function as a system and meet any special system requirements detailed on the customer order. Customer repairs To support the repair of customer units:- * At the end of each production batch any customer repair units of the same type should be addressed. Project work Work with Development, Production Engineering and Production to ensure that new products have an efficient and workable test regime that provides 100% confidence that the production product is performing to the Design specification. This will involve:- * Input to the design team on test process and equipment. * Work with Production engineering in the design and manufacture of custom test Jigs and processes * In collaboration with Design and Prod Eng, Documentation of the production test process to provide an approved test procedure for manufacture. Improvement of the existing product test processes: * This will be initiated from Production as we push out the repettative production test function to the subcontractor. * It will require the same actions as those required for a new product detailed above. General * Monthly the rework shelf should be cleared. * Routine maintenance of test jigs and fixtures * Maintenance of test procedures to ensure that they reflect the approved and agreed process used. * Equipment calibration, to maintain a calibration register and esure that test kit remains in calibration. * To maintain a tidy and safe working environment. * To assist in technical support of the product as required by the technical support dept. Person Specification The successful person will need to have the following attributes and experience: - * A relevant technical qualification. e.g. BSc.,HND,HNC in electronics. * Knowledge of Test proceedures and methods. * Ability to fault find to component level. * The Ability to rework to component level. * The ability to write technical documents * Pleasant and professional character with good verbal skills for communication via telephone and directly with other Departments and people. * Organisational skills and discipline to follow and provide department procedures and provide a general housekeeping activities. * Good proven knowledge of use of modern test and analysis equipment. * Testing and /or quality experience. * Experience of Data Communications or networking. * Proven ability to work as part of a team and a flexible attitude. * At least 3 years experience in test within the IT Industry, preferably in a high technology environment. * General computer awareness, particularly database experience and familiarity with PC operation in Microsoft Windows environment using Microsoft Word and Excel. |
