Description:

Reports to: Operations ManagerResponsibilitiesAssume the role as the Management Representative for the quality management system.Ensure the companies quality management system complies with current regulatory requirements. Maintain the quality andprocedures manuals.Continually improve the effectiveness of the quality management system.Assume the role of the companies Health & Safety Representative.Ensure the company complies with all current statutory and regulatory requirements.Continually ensure that all employees are working within a safe code of practice.Main DutiesCustomersLiaise with customers on all issues pertaining to quality.Maintain records that demonstrate customer satisfactionEnsure customer drawings are to the latest issue.First Off AcceptanceCheck first 6 components from machines.Prepare first off reports on customer or in house paper work as appropriate.Perform random inspections on machines.Check the quality of second operations.Gauge ControlMaintain gauge calibration system.Clean, calibrate and record gauges within timescale. Replace as required.Set snap gauges for operator use. Train in their use.Check all gauges on return from use, replace in stores, maintaining stores systems.Statistical Process Control.Maintain equipment and calibrate to relevant national standard.Train personnel in the use of equipment and method of recording data.Compile and present reports to customers.Control of Suppliers and Goods ReceivingLiaise with suppliers on all quality issues.Maintain suitable records on vender performance.Check raw material for size, specification and quantity against purchase order.Receive material in computer system.Identify and locate raw material in racks.Maintain all systems to ensure lot traceability from goods receiving to despatch.Other Miscellaneous DutiesPrepare quality plans and flow chart FMEA capability studies.Check drawing dimension conversions.Maintain COSHH records.Maintain risk assessment register.Maintain lifting equipment records.Check fire alarms and smoke detectors.StandardsPrepare monthly management report.Chair monthly quality meetings and circulate minutes as appropriate.Chair six monthly safety meetings and circulate minutes as appropriate.
