Our client is a major supplier of Bluetooth devices and is seeking top quality candidates for all their technicalpositions.Applicants must be willing to provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK if requested.Our client is a successful and growing Fabless semiconductor company, with a customer base that is expanding and alreadyincludes large and demanding companies from sectors such as automotive, PCs and mobile communications.An engineer is now required to work within the Quality Systems group at the company with key emphasis on environmentalsystems and standards, including ISO14001 and customer Green Partner Schemes, but also with some responsibility for themaintenance and improvement of company business systems through ISO9001.You will be responsible for:Take a leading role in obtaining and maintaining certification to ISO14001 and customer Green Partner schemes.Work with and facilitate a cross company Green Team considering environmental issues across the businessHelp conduct an internal and external environmental audit program to ISO14001 and ISO9001.Work with the company subcontractors in order to understand their environmental compliance programs.Manage and maintain an environmental impact assessment scheme.Assist in implementing continual improvement in environmental and quality processes.Answer queries from customers on RoHS and other materials and environmental compliance issues.Take a lead role in informing the company of future environmental trends and legislation.Assist design and development groups to incorporate environmental considerations into company products.Compile a yearly environmental activities report.Assist the business in creating measurable and achievable environmental objectives.This position will involve some foreign travel.Knowledge of the requirements of ISO14001 and appreciation of its application is essential.Knowledge and experience of auditing to ISO14001 and ISO9001 would be useful, as would experience of working within aquality system certified to ISO9001:2000.Computer literacy, good Excel skills in particular.Experience with materials and some understanding of their chemistry.Experience of the semiconductor industry is highly desirable.
