About the roleMain Purpose of Job:Specific Tasks:- Performs acceptance inspection and testing of raw materials and finished products.- Performs data entry and some initial analysis of test results.- Ensures that test procedures and SOP are being followed at all times.- Works in small cross-functional groups to resolve laboratory/product issues and improve test Methods, and elevatesmajor issues to Lead Tech/Supervisor.- Supports Company and departmental safety policies and guidelines.- Effectively performs most tests in the QA laboratory with little or no supervision.Standard Responsibilities:1. To observe all health, safety and environmental rules and best practices, to report any instance of non-conformance toSupervisor; to contribute to and encourage improvements to healthier and safer methods of working.2. To observe all quality procedures and best practices; to report instances of non-conformance to Supervisor; tocontribute to and encourage improvements to internal quality procedures.3. To participate in and contribute to team meetings; to promote teamwork; to maintain effective communication with workcolleagues.4. To observe financial/accounting procedures in accordance with internal rules and best practice, to report instances ofnon-conformance or questionable practice to the Commercial Manager.Who we're looking forPerson Specification:Knowledge, Skills and Experience:- You will be a confident team member with ability to work on your own once trained.- 1 - 2 years' of laboratory experience.- Strong mathematics and science qualifications, as a minimum GCSE or equivalent, together with good analytical andtechnical skills. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Computer skills in MS office and other data base applications preferred.- Capable of performing most standard physical, mechanical, electrical, and analytical tests and inspections.- Ability to effectively work in a multi-discipline and cross-functional team environment.- Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment problems, assist in training on test procedures and Methods, and analyse testdata using basic statistical tools.Location: CambridgeStart date: 10/11/2005 |
