Quality Technician Hereford - GBP 18,000 AutomotiveWorking for a Tier one Automotive company that manufacture braking systems, my client is looking for a Quality Technicianto supply an effective Quality control service for the checking of jigs, fixtures, gauges, initial inspection andcapability analysis using, a variety of measuring equipment, instruments and statistical process quality tools andtechniques. Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal departments to control the products supplied and ensure theiroverall conformity.The role:From component and fixture drawings, check fixture, jig, gauge and component dimensions using a variety ofinstrumentation and CMMs, which are to be programmed where necessary.Ensure all gauges and measuring equipment is regularly calibrated and entered onto the electronic calibration database.Order new gauging and instrumentation where required in conjunction with monitoring and managing the quality departmentbudget with the Quality Manager.To undertake capability studies on new and existing products, which have designated significant characteristics.Monitor these SC's by the use of SPC to control these features.Prepare ISIR reports and PPAP documentation when required by the customer on new or existing products.Assist in 8D resolutions by analysis of rejected components, dimensional validation and root cause analysis.Analysis of scrap, both internal and external in order to find root causes and effect their resolutions to achieve thescrap budget set.Travel to customers and suppliers within and outside the UK when necessary to assess and rectify any reported orpredicted concerns.Instruct apprentices or work experience personnel in the daily working practices of the Quality Department.Undertake 5S duties within the quality department and onto the shop floor where necessary to maintain a clean and tidyworking environmentThe successful candidate will have the following:Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems to ISO 9002/1994 and QS9000 1998Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Dexterity to use Quality Instrumentation and CMM.Ability to promote quality within the workplace by enforcing the QMS and procedures.Keywords: Automotive
