Quantity Surveyor PFI Leeds/BarnsleyMW3861My client requires a Quantity Surveyor to be involved in new Education PFI schemes, the role is predominantly site basedand the sites are based from Leeds to Barnsley.They are one of the top 5 construction contractors in the UK with an annual turnover approaching GBP 2bn. They are involvedprimarily in education, commercial, leisure, retail and residential projects, with values up to around GBP 20mRoleThe successful candidate will find themselves working on PFI education projects valued between GBP 2m and GBP 15m, eitherworking on one project on their own or sharing multiple projects with a Senior Quantity Surveyor.The work will either be new build or extension work.The role will involve;Monthly valuationsSubmission of interim valuations to clients in the agreed format and timescaleMeetings and site visits to progress agreements and to verify Final accountsAgreement with clientsEnsure the final account figure is in line with the internal valuation and costing Payments and credit controlEnsure that the payment of interim valuations are timely and in line with the submissionLiaise closely with credit control to ensure any discrepancies and late payments are dealt with. Sub-contractorsNegotiate and complete subcontract orders and submit all necessary documentation including insurance details, VAT andTax.Make interim and final payments and ensure close liaison with Sub contractors Budgets and Forecasting ReconciliationsCarr out reconciliations on projects and feedback this information to the Operations Manager Contractual arrangementsand conditionsFor both UK and overseas projects the Surveyor will attend meetings as required to agree and scrutinise all contractualterms and conditions.SkillsA successful candidate will;Be a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor with at least 3 years experienceHave experience of working on construction projectsHave a main contractor backgroundBe Degree QualifiedBenefitsAround GBP 28,000 per annum depending upon experienceCar allowance/Company carPensionHealth InsuranceServices advertised by Project Resource Ltd are those of an agency and/or an employment business.
